Some of the South African airlines have fairly crazy colors. I was lucky enough to get the Kulula `Flying 101` 737-800 with its funny labels. 1Time has a a few interesting colors as well and some of them have smiley faces! To top off a great trip, I had the opportunity to fly on the A380 for the first time on the FRA-JNB leg of the trip.
The South African Air Force is one of the few that still flies the DC-3 on operational missions. Their DC-3TP Tubroprop conversions are used for maritime patrol. They are based at Ysterplaat AFB which is also the home to the only flyable Avro Shackleton.
This trip also included the usual stops in FRA plus a short hop to Athens.
